Brooksby Hall Wedding Photography - Wanna & Mercy

Wana & Mercy’s Highlight Cut at Brooksby Hall

On 29th June 2019 we had an amazing time celebrating with Wana and Mercy on their special day at Brooksby Hall, Leicestershire. The day was filled with laughter, singing and many moments to cherish. This is why Wana and Mercy chose to book both our wedding photography and videography package, as there were so many beautiful moments throughout their day which needed to be captured from every possible angle! I have to admit it felt like love at first sight whilst driving through the entrance of Brooksby Hall, with the breathtaking high ceilings and truly beautiful interior it was perfect even for a royal occasion! The surrounding gardens were seriously to die for, I’ll never forget fighting through the gigantic shrubs and leaves to capture those gorgeous must have portrait photos!

To start the day we headed to groom prep which was at a charming Air bnb guest house where we were greeted by some cheeky little ducks on the drive! Being hit with the smell of bacon sarnies whilst entering the guest house was a real treat, the groom and groomsmen had just finished breakfast and were cleaning up. Wana and his best man were so eager to jump into their suits, that they got changed in the blink of an eye straight after breakfast - looking very smart may I add! The rest of the groomsmen followed whilst Wana opened his present and card from Mercy. This was such a beautiful moment as many tears were shed whilst reading through the heartfelt paragraphs on his card. We ended groom prep with some lovely groom and groomsmen photos just in front of the lake in the vast surrounding gardens and then packed up ready to drive to the next location at bride prep!

We arrived at bride prep with perfect timing as Mercy and her bridesmaids were just in the middle of finishing their beautiful breakfast spread. The house was beautifully decorated with balloons and Happy Birthday bunting - it turned out to be Mercy’s 21st birthday the same day, which made the day even more special! One by one Mercy and her bridesmaids were finished with their bridal hair and makeup, ready for their group photos in their bride and bridesmaids gowns. The gowns were just perfect, with beautiful letter and writing detail on the backs and gorgeous lace trims - they made for beautiful photos! After this we then took the chance to get some photos of their beautiful bridesmaid dresses hanging up in front of the most perfect window in the bedroom just in time, before they were stolen away by some extremely excited bridesmaids waiting to wear them! Capturing photos of Mercy’s finished look outside was definitely my favourite part of bride prep, she looked unbelievably glamorous with her bridal makeup and hair, combined with her gorgeous dress and beams of sunlight peeking through the gaps in the leaves on the tree - it was just so naturally beautiful!

Although the ‘Big Shed’ sounds quite deceiving, it is the perfect wedding ceremony venue if you plan on inviting hundreds of guests, as there is simply so much space at the venue! Wana and Mercy’s wedding ceremony was full of love and heartfelt moments, every single guest was up on their feet dancing and singing along with the couple and the band - I felt like I was in a movie with the perfect wedding taking place! The vows and kiss exchanged were simply beautiful, it was so lovely to see each of the guests clutching at their tissues and wiping the happy tears away. Both Cameron and I were praying for this perfection to have no end, but it turns out it got even better! We had the pleasure of experiencing the beautiful culture Wana, Mercy and their families share, as they danced their way back down the isle with a trail of family and guests dancing behind - it was a truly beautiful moment which will stay with me and most certainly everyone attending the ceremony that day!

Driving up to the entrance of Brooksby Hall, I knew we were in for a treat and such beautiful wedding photos! Wana and Mercy arrived like royalty in the Tesla wedding car, we definitely got some great photos of Wana, Mercy and the Tesla - it was a must! Whilst everyone was arriving we took the opportunity to whisk the lovely couple away for some portrait photos together. Scouting out locations for these photos was so easy as the surrounding grounds were so beautiful and picturesque. Once we had captured all the portrait photos possible, we made our way back to the main building to get the group photos covered. We also took a visit to the reception room to check out the gorgeous decorations, before many hungry guests made their way in ready for the wedding breakfast (which was absolutely divine may I add!).

Following the wedding breakfast were some truly sincere, heartfelt speeches from Wana and Mercy’s family. Wana even serenaded Mercy when making his speech, which made for such an amazing moment to include in their wedding video. Wana wasn’t the only talented person as the rest of his family also performed a little song and a dance for the newly weds, which was honestly so impressive!

After food, socialising and some well needed rest the lovely couple were ready and raring for their cake cut which was so fabulous with everyone gathered around counting down! Once the cake was cut they made their way onto the dance floor with everyone desperate to get to the front row in the crowd to watch the couple have their first dance as husband and wife. It was so beautiful with the twinkling lights in the background, which made for such perfect wedding photos and videos - it really was the most perfect first dance!
